Histon fans delighted with win
Histon left it late to seal the three-points with a 2-1 victory over a plucky Rushden & Diamonds side on Saturday afternoon.
Stutes fans had to wait until the second-half to see their side come out on top, with the first-half providing little in the way of meaningful attacking play.
And it was well worth the wait as the home side came out after the break in a different frame of mind, and it paid off in the 65th minute.
Antonio Murray picked up a Jack Midson pass and lashed home from 12 yards out to hand the home side the lead.
But it was not all plain sailing as the visitors pulled the sides level on 77 minutes.
Charles Ademeno was the man who scored the goal when he drilled a right-footed effort into the back of the net from the edge of the penalty area.
Despite Rushden's resurgence after the goal, the home side proved to have a little too much for them and thoroughly deserved to claim the winner in the final minute of the match.
The goal came when Neil Andrews managed to get on the end of a Daniel Wright cross and lash home from close range.
