Histon and Grays Athletic played to an entertaining draw at the Glassworld Stadium on Easter Monday and the hosts almost snatched the win late on.
The Stutes drew first blood when Nathaniel Knight-Percival latched onto an Adrian Cambridge corner kick and volleyed into the top-left corner from the right-hand side of the six-yard box.
Grays clawed their way back into the game and drew level in the 44th minute thanks to a well-paced header by Scott Taylor.
The visitors claimed the lead after 59 minutes when Jamie Taylor raced onto a long-range Jon Ashton pass and placed the ball in the bottom-right corner with a 12-yard effort.
Histon were awarded a penalty in the 76th minute when Grays' Jon Ashton was adjudged to have fouled Jamie Barker in the box.
Gareth Gwillim coolly slotted home the resulting spot kick to make it 2-2 and the hosts came close to snatching the win late in injury time.
Antonio Murray found himself in the right place at the right time but his flicked header from the right-hand side of six-yard box hit the post.
Histon bookings: Mitchell-King 60, Murray 67.
Grays bookings: Downer 24.
