Andy Campbell

Halifax 2-1 Weymouth

Halifax Town heaped more pressure on struggling Weymouth as the home side ran out 2-1 winners on Saturday afternoon.

Despite the game going according to plan for the home side, the visitors did give them a real scare when they took the lead early on.

Anton Robinson was the man who put the away side ahead when he prodded home a loose ball from close range.

The home side tried their best to break down the visitors defence, but nothing came of it as they went into the break a goal down.

But the second-half was a different story altogether as the home side came out storming and thoroughly deserved to equalise in the 60th minute.

Andy Campbell was the man who grabbed the equaliser on the hour-mark when he smashed Danny Forrest's pass into the back of the net.

And the comeback was complete in the 73rd minute when Simon Heslop hit a fierce drive into the net from a Jon Shaw pass.

The match was marred late on by the sending-off of Weymouth's Scott Doe for a professional foul on Campbell, but that had no bearing on the game in terms of goals and the home side strolled to the three-points with ease.
