Weymouth supporters
Blue Square Premier newcomers Weymouth have scheduled a pre-season friendly with Championship play-off finalists Bristol City.
The Robins will be one of four Football League clubs to make the trip to the Wessex Stadium as part of the Terras extensive build-up to the new campaign.
League One teams Yeovil Town and Bristol Rovers along with former Blue Square Premier side and now League Two outfit Exeter City and Championship club Southampton make up the compliment of Weymouth's pre-season fixtures.
Games against Chickerell United and Bridport have been postponed, but manager John Hollins is eager to reschedule those fixtures and has urged Terras' fans to support in the side during the friendlies.
He told This Is Weymouth: "The season starts now for us and we want our fans with us right from the off.
"A good pre-season is vital for any club and these games against high-class teams from top divisions will provide excellent preparation for the season ahead.
"It will give our fans the chance to see for themselves the hard work the lads have put in over the summer and, together, we can build momentum to get our season off to a flyer.
"The games with Chickerell and Bridport have been postponed because, with the other games we have got, we don't want to pack too many in, but we will play the two teams when we have an available week."
And Weymouth have given the fans an added incentive to turn up for the games, as supporters who pay to witness all five fixtures will get in for free to one of the clashes as part of a multi-game saver ticket.
