Pollock reassures Magpies fans

Ex-Director of Dorchester Town, Ian Pollock, has told Magpies' fans that he has no intention of forcing the club into administration.

Pollock, who resigned from the board in August this year, is in the process of trying to retrieve £1,000 which he loaned the club. But, he has assured fans that he will not bring the club down whilst trying to get his money back.

Magpies' chairman Eddie Mitchell has said that Pollock would only receive the payment when the club were in a position, financially, to do so.

Pollock is not expecting an immediate return of the cash but says he wants some form of assurance.

"It's nothing to do with egos, I gave £1,000 to the club as a loan, if I could afford to donate it then I would, but I can't," Pollock told the Dorset Echo.

"I resigned from the board in August 2007 so if they had paid me by installments then it would have all been paid off by now and saved a lot of hassle.

"I'm stuck between a rock and a hard place, and I'm seen as the bad guy in all this for wanting money that's owed to me.

"I don't want to do anything that will jeopardise the financial security of the club. I've been told they'll pay it back when they've got the money but the cost of running the team now is a lot greater.

"Eddie's financial commitment must be a frightening amount, but it would be nice if they could make some sort of commitment, such as installments or paying it off if they win in the FA Cup on Saturday and then again in the next round.

"There are enforcement routes I can take, one of which is through bailiffs to recover the amount, but we'll just wait and see.

"What they need to do though, is win more games as the crowd will increase and so will the revenue."
