Eastbourne announce Benjamin return

Northampton Town striker Joe Benjamin has returned on loan to Blue Square Premier side Eastbourne Borough for the remainder of the season.

The 19 year-old spent a month at Priory Lane in November but a mounting injury list at Sixfields ruled out a loan extension and he went back to the Cobblers for the busy festive programme and made two starts for the Division Two club.

5ft 11 ins Benjamin made six appearances for Borough in his previous spell and the quick, strong striker who can also play wide became a crowd favourite for the Blue Square Premier League club.

He goes straight into the squad for Borough's away BSP trip to Cambridge United tomorrow (Saturday).
