Eastbourne Borough 0-0 Kidderminster

Play-off chasing Kidderminster Harriers were denied all three points by a plucky Eastbourne Borough at Priory Lane.

The home side will be delighted with the point, coming off a 6-0 humiliation against Stevenage in midweek. That coupled with the fact that Steve Burr's Harriers side are in impressive form at present, unbeaten since December.

Harriers on the other hand were left frustrated after seeing three efforts hit the woodwork and one attempt cleard off the line as they would have fancied their chances of three points before the game.

It was Borough who started brightest with Neil Jenkins and Jamie Taylor going wide before Liam Enver-Marum was denied by Harriers keeper Ross Atkins. Rather worryingly for the Sports, top-scorer Enver-Marum later limped off the field with an injury.

Steve Burrs side slowly started to gain control and could easily have taken the lead when Brian Smikle saw a shot cleared off the line by Ben Austin. Harriers new signing Adam Boyes was impressive and also nearly gave his side the lead but was denied by the post from 20-yards out.

The football gods seemed to have destined the game for a draw as Lee Baker and Chris McPhee saw shots hit the upright while the home side's Matt Crabb had a volley and a free kick thunder back off the bar.

Speaking to The Shuttle after the game Steve Burr commented, "It was just one of those games today where the ball didn't fall for us but if you can't win them make sure you don't lose."
