Richard Logan
Exeter City fought off a second-half comeback from Farsley Celtic to obtain the three-points on Saturday afternoon.
The home side opened the scoring in the 21st minute after they had dominated the opening exchanges.
Celtic's Amjad Iqbal brought down Richard Logan on the outside of the area and Matthew Gill swung in the resulting free-kick which found its way to Daniel Seaborne who headed home from close range.
Matthew Taylor doubled their advantage 11 minutes later.
Dean Moxey swung in a dangerous corner and Taylor managed to break free from the Celtic defence before smashing home from close range.
The second-half was a different affair all together as the visitors finally showed a sign of life and richly deserved to score on 64 minutes.
David McNiven was the man credited with the goal when he found the back of the net from a Roy Stamer pass, but the home side held out with some impressive defending to record a valuable victory.
Exeter bookings: Seaborne 28, Edwards 90
Farsley Celtic bookings: McNiven 41, Bentham 45, McNiven 78, Watson 88
