Challinor: Netted the winner
Farsley 0-1 Rushden
Rushden & Diamonds made their numerical advantage count on Tuesday evening to edge out nine-man Farsley Celtic at Throstle Nest.
The hosts were reduced to ten men after 29 minutes when Rory Prendergast was shown a straight red card for foul and abusive language.
Rushden finally got the breakthrough they were looking for after 73 minutes when Jon Challinor drilled a left-footed effort into bottom-right corner from 18 yards out.
The match was fiercely contested by both teams and Farsley saw their numbers further reduced in injury time when Georges Santos collected his second yellow card of the game.
Farsley bookings: Aspden 35, Santos 84.
Sent off: Prendergast 29,Santos 90.
