Burton boss Nigel Clough
Burton Albion battled their way to a narrow victory over relegation-threatened Farsley Celtic at Throstle Nest on Easter Monday.
The Brewers had the best of the first-half chances and Matthew Williams missed the target from 12 yards out before breaking the deadlock in the 14th minute.
The visitors should have doubled their tally in the 29th minute but Daryl Clare's drilled shot from six yards out somehow missed the target.
Farsley rallied after the break as they looked to create an equaliser but Craig Bentham and Simeon Bambrook both lacked a cutting edge in front of goal.
Bambrook hit the post with a 25-yard effort later on but it came to nothing and Burton held on for the win.
Farsley bookings: Santos 44.
Burton bookings: Clare 51, Goodfellow 79, Simpson 83.
