Farsley Celtic 1-3 Grays

Farsley endured a miserable end to their life in the Blue Square Premier with a 1-3 reverse at the hands of Grays Athletic.

With relegation already confirmed, John Deacy had the unenviable task of trying to motivate his men for one last outing. But Celtic struggled to make an impact in front of their own fans with Jamie Taylor the first to find the net for the visitors in the 17th minute as he buried a low cross from Danny Kedwell.

Amazingly enough Farsley found some reserves of energy and pulled a goal back in the 34th minute from the penalty spot through Stephen Downes after Adam Gross had handballed in the box.

But that was as good as it was to get for Celtic as first Jeff Goulding made his mark after 71 minutes before Kedwell made sure of the points less than 10 minutes later.

Farsley bookings: Prendergast, Knowles, Santos.

Grays bookings: Gross.
