Poppies player-manager Lee Harper
Rushden & Diamonds assistant boss Michael Stone expects a tough contest when his team hosts local rivals Kettering at Nene Park on Saturday.
The fifth-placed hosts are just a single point ahead with both teams gunning for a play-off place.
"We know it will be a difficult game - Kettering always has that added spice," Stone told Radio Northampton.
The Diamonds have no fresh knocks to contend with although Neil Cousins remains sidelined with a knee injury. Defender Simon Downer should be available despite hurting himself in the recent Oxford clash.
Meanwhile, Kettering player-manager Lee Harper is likewise preparing for an exciting contest.
"Lee Tomlin will be an asset for them but they're good all-round. With Jefferson Louis and Aaron O'Connor they've got a bit of everything up front," he said.
"But we're close to having one of the best defences in the division.
"It'll be a fantastic game and it's one game I really wanted to play in. I'll make sure the boys are up for this one."
In team news, the Poppies have a full-strength squad and can also call on Damian Spencer, as the striker's loan spell has expired with Kidderminster.
