Altrincham v Rushden

Rushden and Diamonds will look to reiterate their play-off credentials when they travel to Moss Lane on Saturday.

Justin Edinburgh's charges beat Gateshead 8-0 in their last outing and are fourth in the Blue Square Premier table. Their hosts, Altrincham, lie tenth and are also coming off a good 2-0 victory over Kettering.

Robins boss Graham Heathcote has asked the club's fans to rally behind the cause.

He told The Messenger: "It is so important the fans keep coming through the turnstiles.

"What we get in gate money over the remaining month or so is very much going to determine what we can do next season."

Heathcote has a number of players sidelined through injury including Matt Doughty, Dale Johnson (both knee), Tom Kearney (leg) and James Smith (hamstring).

But Robbie Lawton has recovered from an ankle injury and he could feature this weekend.

Meanwhile, Diamonds coach Edinburgh is expecting a difficult challenge even though his men are in fine fettle.

"We know it's a difficult place to get a good result - as York City found out on Saturday," he told Northants ET.

"It's another tough game where we will have to roll our sleeves up and show the other side where you have to grind something out.

"But if we can't take confidence after Saturday's game then we never will! We're looking forward to it."

Edinburgh is expected to name an unchanged XI but Rob Wolleaston has overcome an ankle injury and could return to the fray against Alty.
