Barrow v Rushden & Diamonds

Barrow will be desperate to pick up their first points of the season when they host Rushden & Diamonds at Holker Street on Saturday.

Bluebirds joint-manager Dave Bayliss admitted that he and fellow co-boss Darren Sheridan were responsible for their opening two losses.

He told the NorthWest Evening Mail: "The buck stops with us. It's our job to get the right players in the right positions and we haven't done that. We'll take all the flak we get.

"There's more expectation on the lads this season after what they achieved last season, and they all know that so far they haven't delivered.

"We've said we'll finish higher up the table this season and we will do. People have to trust us in what we do. By hook or by crook we will finish better than last season.

"If we don't we'll face the consequences."

Bayliss will be without the services of midfielder Robin Hulbert (suspended) and winger Marc Goodfellow is also a doubt as he struggles to recover from an ankle injury.

Rushden & Diamonds have only picked up one point from their first two fixtures and boss Justin Edinburgh is desperate for his charges to pick up a maximum points haul.

He told BBC Radio Northampton: "People expect us to be up at the top but if we give away goals like we did [against Bath] we won't be.

"We have to stay bright on both boxes and start to keep clean sheets.

"What we must do is get our first victory on the board and that must start at Barrow. We have to grab the game by the horns and see what we can do."

Edinburgh will make one change for the clash with Ryan Charles set to come in for Craig Farrell, who has been ruled out with a groin injury.
