Salisbury City dented Exeter City's play-off hopes with a fairly comfortable win at Raymond McEnhill Stadium on Tuesday night.
The Whites broke the deadlock after nine minutes when Wayne Turk caught Exeter unawares with a superb volleyed effort from 35 yards out.
Exeter battled valiantly as they looked for the equaliser but couldn't create an incisive finish.
Salisbury were awarded a penalty in the 86th minute when Matthew Gill was adjudged to have handled the ball in the area and Matthew Tubbs coolly slotted home the resulting spot kick.
Salisbury bookings: Turk 64.
Exeter bookings: Tully 45.
