Salisbury boss Nick Holmes
Salisbury City stretched their unbeaten run to nine league games with a narrow victory over relegation-threatened Ebbsfleet on Tuesday night.
Ebbsfleet looked to be suffering from an FA Trophy hangover as they fell behind after just four minutes of play.
Goalkeeper James Bittner knocked a free kick down to on-loan full-back Sean Clohessy, who slipped in behind the Fleet defence and fired a powerful shot into the top-right corner.
The visitors were struggling to create goalscoring chances and Luke Moore will be left cursing his luck after missing the target in the 18th minute.
Salisbury looked to be in control, ending the half in the lead after a scrappy 45 minutes of play which was constantly interrupted for niggling fouls.
The second half didn't offer much of an improvement as the hosts sat back, content to protect their slender advantage.
In the end, they held on to collect all three points as a toothless Ebbsfleet attack failed to sufficiently test the Salisbury defence.
