Salisbury boss Nick Holmes
Salisbury City moved up to mid-table on Saturday afternoon with a comfortable victory over Eastbourne Borough at the Raymond McEnhill Stadium.
The 2-0 win saw the Whites extend their unbeaten run to 10 league matches and it was also a seventh clean sheet from their last ten games.
The hosts produced another magnificent defensive display to restrict the Sports to just a handful of chances throughout.
The first period ended goalless as Salisbury squandered a host of chances to break the deadlock.
Eastbourne went close just before the half-time whistle but substitute Simon Wormull saw his shot drift wide of the left-hand post.
Nick Holmes' side finally got the breakthrough they were looking for in the 70th minute when Brian Dutton headed home Sean Clohessy's cross from inside the penalty box.
Salisbury made sure of the result in the 89th minute when substitute Charles Ademeno pounced on a loose ball and fired a shot into bottom-left corner from the edge of the penalty box.
Salisbury bookings: Ruddick.
Eastbourne bookings: None.
Ref: K Yeo (Essex).

A new looking ground that has been further developed since it was first opened in 1997. The first thing that strikes you about the stadium is that it is sunken, meaning that you enter at the back of the stands and descend into it. | ||
