Lee Harper

Kettering v Salisbury

Kettering Town boss Lee Harper is considering resting some key players for the match against Salisbury City at Rockingham Road on Saturday afternoon.

The Poppies face a FA Cup second-round replay at Leeds United on Tuesday and Harper will make a number of changes to his starting line-up on Saturday.

Player-manager Harper is considering resting himself for Saturday's clash as he continues to nurse a long-term back problem.

Defenders Sol Davis and John Dempster are both on four yellow cards and Harper is unlikely to risk the duo.

He told Northants ET: "We have a couple of players on four bookings and I am in more and more pain with my back.

"It is something we will have a look at ahead of the game but the chairman wanted me to rest at Luton and I wasn't prepared to do that.

"Maybe now I have to consider it and if that is the case then I will choose between Nick and Niall.

"The lure of what could follow with a win at Leeds is too big to ignore.

"There have been plenty of figures banded about but if the figure of £700,000 for the club if we were to play Manchester United away is right then you can't just dismiss it."

Salisbury are boosted by the return of on-loan defender Chris Todd, who has completed a one-match ban.

Fellow defender Lee Brown is rated doubtful through illness but Rob Sinclair will definitely miss out with a hamstring injury.

Jamie Turley misses out again as he serves the last game of the three-match suspension.
