Grays Athletic 0-2 Salisbury City

Grays Athletic's seemingly inexorable slide towards relegation continued as they fell to their eighth straight league defeat, this time at the hands of Salisbury.

The early signs were encouraging for the home side as Jamie Guy hit the woodwork inside the first three minutes.

But Salisbury rallied and went ahead after 28 minutes as Matt Tubbs stroked home from Bradley Gray's pass.

The woodwork again denied Grays when Harley Dean's well-struck effort bounced back out.

Any hopes of a point were cruelly dashed when Sean Clohessy added City's second in the dying minutes, leaving Grays a daunting 11 points away from safety.

Grays Athletic bookings: Davis, Guy, Rhodes, Reynolds, Clarey.

Salisbury bookings: Cox, Clarke, Sinclair.

Att: 232.

Ref: Stephen Ross (Lincolnshire).

Club Profile
A new looking ground that has been further developed since it was first opened in 1997. The first thing that strikes you about the stadium is that it is sunken, meaning that you enter at the back of the stands and descend into it.
